Hey guys, was hoping you could help me out

I am relatively new to process maker (but familiar with PHP and coding).

I am basically trying to assign the next task to any of the manually selected users.

This is similar to 'manual assignment', however in 'manual assignment' you specify only one user, whereas I want to specify multiple users.

This is also similar to assigning a task to a 'group', except that I do not want to assign the task to a 'whole' group but only to a subset (which will be specified by the user running the task)

Thanks in advance

hey Ahmed,

It is a little late answer, but nevertheless.. :)

I am trying out the same thing right now (with no luck so far), and here are some posts and discussions that may be helpful for you too:

I hope I will get this thing to work. And if I do, I will report back :)

Good luck!

Hi Ahmed,

So far, it is not possible to have multiple assignments in PM, but Why not using the "Self Service" approach ?
This way you users can all see the same tasks and whoever grabs it become the new assignee.
This is quite flexible and you can also have the [urlhttp://wiki.processmaker.com/index.php/2.0/Tasks#Self_Service_Value_Based_Assignment]Value Based Self Service[/url], which will allow you to define which User Group can see and take the task assignment.

The only difference with std assignment, is that the case will appear in the Unassigned inbox, you ll also have the possibility to send reminders to users who can see those unassigned tasks to notify them that one of them should handle the task.

Andrew

Hi, I'm new in PM, but I have to say that it is quite difficult to me to understand why it is impossible to assign to multiple user a task without the trick of the Self Service assignment.
Even in the Self Service value based assignment is there the possibility to set a single or AN ARRAY OF UID that can access the pool in order to claim the task.
With self service is mandatory for me to create an extra task in which the request is posted into a pool waiting that someone "claims" the request so he can get it into him inbox.
That guy must to acts twice: claiming and then handling the request in inbox, it is annoying.
Would not be nice to post directly to a set of user that are not necessarly pre-defined with a group?
I would like to compute this "set of users" for example through a query on the DB, or on ActiveDirectory/LDAP, or reading a file or throug a WS.

aroata22, What you can do is create a group which includes the users and assign that group to the task. Then set the task to "Value based Assignment" or "Self Service Value Based Assignment". Then use a trigger (database query, reading file, etc) to assign users to the variable used by Value Based Assignment.
