Questions and discussion about using ProcessMaker: user interface, running cases & functionality
#830557
Hi, I need to assign a task to more than one user, but those users are calculated before to pass them to Process Maker.
i.e Currently, for one user I used: Assignment Type="By User ID" and "Variable Name"= variable where I stored the user id.

I'm trying to do something similar but instead of one user I need to get X users in the variable.

Is this possible some how?

**These users already exists in an external source, so we are trying to avoid double maintenance: Users in the external source and users in Process Maker.

Thanks in advance

Here are the steps to set this up:

Create a group in Process Maker that corresponds to the external source of users. You can do this by going to "Admin" > "Groups" and clicking on "New Group". Give the group a name that corresponds to the external source.

When you retrieve the users from the external source and store them in a variable, also store the name of the group that they belong to in a separate variable.

In the task configuration, set the assignment type to "By Group" and set the variable name to the variable that contains the name of the group.

When the task is executed, it will be assigned to all the users in the group that corresponds to the variable value.

Hi,
You must create an array variable for expmale "arrayOfUsers".
Then right-click on the desired task and select "Self service value based assignment" in the assignment rules section and assign the variable you defined there (@@arrayOfUsers).
Now it is enough to set this variable with the ID of the desired users using the trigger before assigning the previous task.
Example trigger:
@=arrayOfUsers = ['USR_UID1', 'USR_UID2', 'USR_UID3'];
