Is it possible to configure ProcessMaker to let Apache handle authentication?

My organization uses a fairly non-standard SSO for which we have an Apache authentication module.

I would like to create users manually inside of ProcessMaker with their organizational usernames, then let Apache handle the authentication layer rather than handling it at the ProcessMaker level.

From the documentation, it looks like the Windows SSO module does something along these lines, so I'm guessing that it's possible. So I'm hoping for some pointers on how I might create a similar configuration for our custom SSO module.

Thanks,

Jeremy.

Hi Jeremy,

Yes, it is possible. In fact, we do this in our enterprise edition.

To do this requires modifying the core files in ProcessMaker, something I always caution against.

However, if you are adamant on this requirement, here is where you can do it:

You would just need to add your own method for authenticating your user. In this example, this would be how we verify when using SSO. In your case, you could do it however you wish to authenticate your users.

I hope that helps!
