I have tried, tried and tried to get ProcessMaker working on XAMPP stack that I already have, I have even tried to do a direct install from the installer, but am running into whole lot of problems.

Installer
The installation gets stuck at "installing ProcessMakerApache-1". This is even when XAMPP is not running. I've tried this about 8-10 times. Mind you, each of these times took 5-10 mins one way and another 5-7 mins reversing the installation. Whew!

Direct on XAMPP Stack
Since I preferred this at the onset, I tried this repeatedly hoping against hope that somehow this will work. I tried configuring the virtual host in the xampp\apache\conf\extra\httpd-vhosts.conf; I tried to do this directly into the xampp\apache\conf\httpd.conf itself. I am getting Error 500, Object Not Found etc trying out different things. I even tried tweaking the .htaccess file in the public_html (although I have limited knowledge of .htaccess redirection), but its been of no use.

At the onset, ProcessMaker looks to be a good application. We need a BPM application to manage our workflow. I wished to try it out locally before taking it into a production environment. But the installation does seem very tricky.

Is there a detailed documentation on how to get ProcessMaker up and running on XAMPP? I have gone through all the forum posts (believe me...all of them!!) and tried out all of the suggestions worth trying out.

I wish to install ProcessMaker on localhost (127.0.0.1) . After this, I wish to put it onto our web hosting server. Any help on this would be welcome!!

Thanks for your help. BTW, I did manage to reach the first page on ProcessMaker. Unfortunately, I am getting stuck on the first page itself because of "Set magic quotes gpc to false -------> FAILED". I have posted this problem in a new topic thinking that anything from you or other knowledgeable persons here would help the rest of the community on this forum. This topic is posted here
