i have a dropdown in a grid and i have a table in database. i want to fill the dropdown values from a field in database. what is the sql code for it?

In general, you can write a query when you create a dropdown list. This query will help you populate the value in the dropdown list. You can read this page:

you can try this one - its working for me
$sql="SELECT * FROM table_name" and display in HTML code in
<select id="cars">
<option value="volvo">Volvo</option>
<option value="saab">Saab</option>
<option value="opel">Opel</option>
<option value="audi">Audi</option>
</select>
