Hi,

I'm new using PM. I've installed the 3.3 community version.
I'd like to create a workflow in which there are butons which can initiate a scan. The scan will output a file which will be stored and renamed automaticaly in PM.

There used to be no way that a web application can control a scanner attached to the local computer, because that violated security rules.
There are some new protocols under HTML5 that are starting to allow it. See:

I've never tried it, but if you are programmer you should be able to figure it out or hire someone to help you.
