The wiki had instructions on setting up a button to cancel a case, but is there any way to call the existing Cancel Case prompt from Actions using a button? That prompt has everything I need and I'd like to make use of it if possible.

You can use JavaScript like this if your users are only using the English interface:
Code: Select all
$("#myCancelButton").find("button").onclick( function() {
    $("span.x-menu-item-text:contains('Cancel')", top.frames.casesFrame.casesSubFrame.document).click();
})
This code might work for multi-language setups, but it assumes that every user has the same number of items in his/her interface, so the same ID is assigned to the "Cancel" span:
Code: Select all
$("#myCancelButton").find("button").onclick( function() {
    $("#ext-gen65", top.frames.casesFrame.casesSubFrame.document).click();
})

I dug through the source code and found it. :-) There are lots of goodies in workflow/engine/templates/cases/open.js

Here are the useful ones:
Actions.showDynaforms()
Actions.showHistoryMessages()
Actions.processMap()
Actions.processInformation()
Actions.taskInformation()
Actions.caseHistory()
Actions.messageHistory()
Actions.dynaformHistory()
Actions.changeLogHistory()
Actions.uploadedDocuments()
Actions.generatedDocuments()
Actions.getUsersToReassign()
Actions.setUnpauseCaseDate()
Actions.cancelCase()
