Questions, suggestions and discussion around ProcessMaker 3 documentation
#830575
Hi all,

I would like to know if there's a way to do a partial backup lets say just backup cases created since 2020 and restore it at another server.

The old server runs 3.2 community while the new one will be using 3.8 community.
The old server have a project with a lot of customization, will there be any issue when trying to restore it at another version of processmaker?

Thank you for your time.
Your help is appreciated.

Hi,
The best way is to update the same server from version 3.2 to version 3.8 instead of backing up the previous data.
To update, you can do it step by step in order to have less errors, for example, first to version 3.3, then to 3.4, then to 3.5, then to 3.7, and finally update to 3.8.

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestion and I understand that it is easier to upgrade one at a time, but the current server cannot have a long period of downtime due to critical project inside the live server.

Hence I would like to know if there's another way to do backup from previous version and restore it in another version of processmaker.

Thank you.

Thanks
As a result, I would want to find out whether there is another method to build a backup from an earlier version and then restore it in a different version of processmaker.
