Ask questions about installing and configuring ProcessMaker 3
#812799
I'm using Processmaker3.2.1-Community on Windows Server2012.
I used hotmail as my email server, and it works fine.
But When I change to company mail account built on gmail,it doesn't work.

Hotmail settings:
smtp.live.com
port:25
sender account:*****_Ming@hotmail.com
sender email:*****_Ming@hotmail.com
sender name:Ming
use TLS

Gmail settings:
smtp.gmail.com
port:465
sender account:bpm@***.com.tw
sender email:bpm@***.com.tw
sender name:bpm
use TLS

I've tried port:587+TLS or port:465+SSL,and it just spined and nothing happened, but when I tried port:465+TLS,I got the error message as title.
I also change the gmail setting:allow low-security program...,but it still doesn't work.

Please give me some advices.Thank you for your watching and really sorry for my poor English.

Yes,I've configured my Gmail account to Enable IMAP and use Access for Less Secure Apps, but I got the same error message.

P.S. When I used my personal hotmail account,it works normally.

Thank you for your immediate response.

Try setting up Gmail 2-Step Verification as explained on the wiki.

Is your email bpm@xxxxxxx.com.tw a business account from Google? That is what we are using at ProcessMaker and it works. You should check that your firewall isn't blocking port 465. Do pings and the other tests listed on the wiki from your ProcessMaker server verify that you can connect to smtp.gmail.com.
#812824
What operating system is your PM server using? If you are using Linux, then you can enter this command to verify that nothing is blocking the connection:
openssl s_client -starttls smtp -connect smtp.gmail.com:587 -crlf -ign_eof

You should see output like the following:
Code: Select all

If you are using PM on a Windows machine, then you can probably use the same command by first downloading and installing openssl:
https://wiki.openssl.org/index.php/Binaries
(I've never tried this, but let me know if it works.)

weiminliou, I recommend that you sign up for a Free ProcessMaker Trial and see if you can connect to your Gmail account from the ProcessMaker servers. If you can connect, then you know it is a configuration problem on your server or network. If you can't connect, then you need to configure your Gmail account. That will help you narrow down what is the problem.
#813990
Well-well, I'm not a chosen one who experienced that issue with gmail, I see. Actually, I hadn't found any solution to that, so I've just call it a day with google (I was trying to switch client for my own needs, so I was able to choose anything else), but suggestions here are completely puzzled me, because I thought that the key problem was that I had 2 step verification enabled on my account. Nevertheless, now I have to work with Outlook only and SMTP works fine here. It's quite another matter that Outlook is pretty bad with syncing data out of the box - it was torturing me for something about a week, before I've got to know that there are another tools to import mail to outlook here So I've got over this problem. But seriously, I may get it wrong, because I have only experience I had under my belt, but for me the very one solution is to migrate your company mail to another client, maybe Outlook for instance
#814000
This problem might be because you haven't made one of the cache files writable. I encountered this problem today. The error "Failed to connect to server" disappeared when I switched the port from 465 to 587.

The "SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host." message disappeared when I changed the file permissions on my Linux installation, according to the instructions on the wiki:
http://wiki.processmaker.com/3.1/Proces ... ermissions

weiminliou, you should double check the file permissions of your ProcessMaker installation.
