Ask questions about installing and configuring ProcessMaker 3

I am needing to upgrade an old ProcessMaker 2.8 server to a new OS install and was wondering what the fastest way to get started is. The old install is on Turnkey Linux Appliance (Debian 6) https://www.turnkeylinux.org/processmaker. That was very easy to setup because they gave me a Vmware OVA template with PMK installed. They don't have a supported way to upgrade to new OS versions though. I took at a look at Bitnami who is similar, but their OS is Ubuntu based, I believe https://bitnami.com/stack/processmaker. According to dipolediamond's book on Getting Started with Processmaker, they don't recommend running the Bitnami VM in production. viewtopic.php?f=41&t=713343

We are looking at moving to the commercial version in the future and ProcessMaker recommend Centos http://wiki.processmaker.com/3.2/Supported_Stacks. I was wondering if there is a Centos LAMP Vmware image any where out there that might be a quick way to start that would also be supported. If not I guess I'll follow the long manual setup process from here http://wiki.processmaker.com/3.1/Stack_205. I just wanted to check if there was a faster path somewhere.

I don't know of a faster way than to do the manual install. You definitely want to avoid Bitnami for production use, because you can't upgrade PM in a Bitnami installation.

If you want to transfer the content of your existing installation in Debian 6 to your new installation, then you should upgrade PM from version 2.8 to version 3.2.1 and then export the workspace. Then take it to your new PM installation in the new server and import the workspace.

Make sure to make a backup of your PM2.8 install and its databases before attempting the upgrade.
