Many people in the ProcessMaker community have expressed the desire for a Stable Version of ProcessMaker. The idea is to have a version of ProcessMaker which doesn't need to be constantly patched and has been well tested so ProcessMaker can be reliably used in production with minimal hassle.

In order to acheive this goal, we are asking people in the ProcessMaker community to download our Release Candidates for the upcoming Stable Version and test it thoughly for any bugs. We need people to put the upcoming Stable Version of ProcessMaker through its paces. Many bugs are only discovered when people in the community run cases on processes with a wide variety of options on many platforms. The limited resources here at Colosa only allow us to test a few processes on a few systems, so we need your help to find all those niggling bugs which are easily overlooked.

To help out, please download the latest Release Candidate for the Stable Version which is available at:

Please DO NOT try out the release candidates on any server which is using ProcessMaker in production.
The best way to try out our release candidates is to install them in a separate machine or a virtual machine, where they can't corrupt your existing cases.

If you find a bug, please report them in our bug tracker at http://bugs.processmaker.com
We will prioritize fixing bugs found in the Release Candidates.

If currently using versions 1.2-2552, 1.2-2740, 1.2-2838, 1.2-2865, or 1.2-2985, you can use the patch file pmos-patch_RC2-2552-3306.tar.gz to test out Release Candidate 2. However, this patch file is 2.19MB, which is larger than the 2MB uploads which are allowed by default in PHP. If you have the default configuration of PHP, you will have to alter your php.ini file to upload it. Open your PHP configuration file which is found at:
In Debian/Ubuntu: /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini
In Red Hat/CentOS/Fedora: /etc/php.ini
In Windows with manual install: C:\Program Files\PHP\php.ini
In Windows with automatic installer: C:\Program Files\ProcessMaker\php\php.ini
Change the line:
upload_max_filesize = 2M
To:
upload_max_filesize = 3M
Then reload or restart the Apache 2 web server. On all systems Apache can be restarted from the command line:
apachectl -k graceful
or by simply rebooting.

The patch doesn't seem to work for the Windows version of ProcessMaker. I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function symlink() in C:\Program Files\ProcessMaker\apps\processmaker\htdocs\workflow\engine\classes\class.archive.php on line 449

I don't imagine symlink() would work in Windows. It looks like this is a part of the file extraction process for files of "type 2". Perhaps previous patches never contained this type of file.

Is there a quick fix for this? I'd like to start testing this release as soon as possible. I don't see RC2 listed as a version on the bug tracker so I posted here instead.

by error a symlink file was added to the patch, we are removing this symlink file and will produce another patch soon.
